Davy's at Mount Arlington, New Jersey for Breakfast on the way and Lunch on the way back. A classic Roadside place, easy access on and off Route 80 and next to a Gas Station.

Golf was great, just what I needed. Weather could not have been better, didn't even have to use the pool.

Cards and Beer were also on the agenda. Won both nights. Landshark and Coronas were the choices. Re: Landshark from a 2009 post - "Landshark is made by Anheuser-Busch, but claims it
is brewed by the Margaritaville Brewing Co. Sort of like Blue Moon and Coors, anything to make you buy. It was an OK beer, reminded me of a Corona - light, not much flavor but
a quick drinking refreshing pop. They also favor putting a Lime in it. Got to prevent scurvy, I guess.

Of course, the name comes from an old Saturday Night Live skit."

You have to love a place where you can get the papers, coffee and Live Bait from a vending machine.

Picked up a nice piece of Striped Bass from P.E. and D.D. Seafood. Went real early, 7:30 a.m. I think that will be my new routine, no lines, good fish available and no money for parking.

Shiner Ruby Redbird is the weekend Beer.

Saw Ted on HBO on Demand last night. Not great, but it did have some laugh out loud moments. I usually watch Seinfeld re-runs and they are immediately followed by Family Guy. Seth MacFarlane is the Writer/ Director of both. I started sampling some and it isn't bad.

Now I have to check out the new Survivor-like series on Discovery channel: Naked and Afraid. TWC channel 66, 766 HD. It is on tonight.

Gearing up for my annual Golf Trip. Missed last year with my wife's illness. Bought a new set of clubs and a new pair of Golf Shoes. Doubt that I will be playing that often, but when I do I'll be playing in Style, I even bought new Golf shirts.

Some gourds. Picked up some White Corn and Black Sea Bass. I recently had a Striped Bass Sandwich, I had forgotten how good Bass can be.

This was in the Library. Will be starting it soon. Destroys some old Myths like Jeb Stuart was to blame for lack of good intelligence and Joshua Chamberlain saved the day. In fact, his troops were just one of many who defended Little Round Top, a position that was not critical. Cemetery Ridge being the crucial battle. Guelzo quotes others who claim Chamberlain, because he survived, was able to get the best story out.

Read some good reviews on this, so I'll give it a try. I have read some of his stuff in The New Yorker.

Brooklyn Brewery at the Greenmarket Night out. $7 a glass for Greenmarket Wheat Beer made from mostly NY ingredients. Very tasty. Picked up a bottle for $10.

Never heard of a Trifle but for $5 , a Blueberry / Peach Trifle, minus $1 because I had an online discount . Trifle : Trifle is a dessert dish made from thick (or often solidified) custard, fruit, sponge cake, fruit juice or jelly, and whipped cream. These ingredients are usually arranged in layers. Craft restaurant on 19th Street. Will have to try it.

Tonight at 7 p.m. on SyFy, repeat of Sharknado. The DVR is already set.

Weather not great, boat's motor was acting up, stayed on the dock. Great meal, Bloody Marys then to beer. A good day not to be at work although 75% of the conversations were work related and I had to actually speak to others on the phone, but all was good.

The Bar/Restaurant had this in the Men's bathroom.

My niece told me about this made for TV movie on SyFy. Sharknado ! She said it is so bad, that it is good. Syfy, pointing to the Twitter appeal as evidence of "enormous popular demand," has scheduled a repeat for Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/PT. I'll be setting up my DVR.

White hair, towel, he's 87, and still puts on a great show. At one point went from You Are My Sunshine to Rock Me Baby. Ended with a solo guitar of When the Saints Go Marchin In. An American treasure. The opener was the James Hunter Six who were pretty good.

Restaurant Week list of participants is now out. I'm saddened to see no Smith and Wollensky. It was a great deal and one I always went to. Now, I guess I'll have to go to Delmonico's. All the other top NYC Steakhouses are in ( Well, no Old Homestead or Peter Luger's but they were never in.)

Dog at a BBQ. Buddy, who barked at me a lot then became my best friend after I gave him some Flank steak.

Right now I am in Greenmarket Heaven : Corn and Blueberries are in Season.

Wow. I learned something today. About two months ago I went to a Walgreens on a Sunday Morning and could not buy a 12-pack of Corona because it wasn't Twelve Noon yet. Today, around 7:55 a.m., at a Met Supermarket a man holding a 12 pack of Coors was told to wait five minutes. Holy Moly, Beer on Sunday at 8 a.m. How come nobody told me. It has been in effect since 2006.

Visited the John Brown Smokehouse yesterday. Went with the Pulled Pork. Huge sandwich on White Bread served with butcher paper. Excellent. They have a sister place called Texas Alchemy at the old Ranger BBQ in Jackson Heights. Alas, it is only open for dinner. Will have to try it some night this Summer.

John Brown Smokehouse has a terrific beer selection. Ballast Point Victory at Sea Porter was the beer for the day. 10% ABV , tasty and it packs a wallop.

Happy July 4th !

Went to the Greenmarket yesterday, heard there was Corn: Migliorelli Farms, small, $1 an ear but delicious. Picked up a dozen, will take some to a BBQ today.

I already have the complete set in DVD but this collection has a bunch of added stuff and based on reviews a cleaner output. The other collection is assembled in a weird order and this one does it by season, a much better way to find things. Amazon had it on special for $121 from a list price of $299. What the hell, a July 4th gift to myself.
