The line at the Queens Museum had over 50 people at 8:00 a.m.

Read the play and the Cliffs notes were helpful. As was the wine.

Belvedere Castle.

Lear was excellent. Great supporting cast: Clarke Peters as Gloucester , Jay O. Sanders as Kent Annette Bening as Goneril and Chukwudi Iwuji as Edgar were terrific.

DVR'd the MacArthur Park Letterman tribute last night featuring Jimmy Webb on the harpsichord. Then I downloaded the Richard Harris original and the Donna Summer cover. I had the short version on my I-pod already and had just heard it the other day.

Money for August. Can't believe it. Good fortune, will pay down debt and do some giving. Will also pay for a September Peru trip.

Went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Good flick.

My oldest made it to Peru. What an adventure. Scary and exciting at the same time.

First White Corn of the season. Terrific.

Went old school last night with spaghetti and meatballs. Had not had it in a long time.

I watched The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance just to check out Lee Marvin. A great role. Never realized all those bad John Wayne impressions came from this movie:

"Whoa, take 'er easy there, Pilgrim."

Marvin's pardners were as Floyd and as Reese. Floyd's lines were mainly: " Heh. heh. heh....heh."

Road trip to Princeton for a friend's daughter's wedding. Everyone said I hadn't aged but I told them I felt old. Lots of driving and I made it home by 1:30. Love the price of New Jersey gas.

Corn and Cherry Tomatoes from the Greenmarket. No strawberries though. Arrived too late.

Quick run for strawberries, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Oh yeah, and CORN ! Sunflowers are always beautiful in the sun.

Neymar had his third vertebra broken. Not even a foul. I used to play soccer in High School, it can be a rough game.

Happy July 4th !

Twilight Zone Marathon on SyFy, Corn, Boston Market and Coronas. Sounds like a plan. Good article in Today on The Twilight Zone. One of my favorites, Nick of Time by Richard Matheson is on at 8:30 a.m.

After seeing the Twilight Zone version of It's a Good Life , I read the short story by Jerome Bixby. He conceived the story for Fantastic Voyage and wrote several Star Trek scripts including Requiem for Methuselah.

Yes, Corn has arrived. Small but oh so delicious, thanks to Migliorelli Farm.
