Orange Empire State Building for Halloween? Actually, it was Orange In celebration of Diwali. Weird vibes in the Union Square area after seeing Joker. There must have been countless costume parties last night. So many people walking about in costume.



The New Yorker's Richard Brody said: “Joker” is a viewing experience of a rare, numbing emptiness.

I didn't like the movie but it did make me think. Maybe it is successful because people project something that a "by the numbers" plotted movie misses. Prisoners saw the essence of prison life in Waiting for Godot.

Joaquin Phoenix is incredible in this movie.

Although Joker is an Unreliable narrator, his first origin story was as Red Hood: a criminal who, during his final heist, vanishes after leaping into a vat of chemicals to escape Batman. His resulting disfigurement led him to adopt the name "Joker", from the playing card figure he came to resemble.

One of my favorite Pop-Ups : Madison Square Eats is now running from September 27th through October 25th. Lots of BBQ available.



Hofbräu München Oktoberfestbier and Shiner Oktoberfest on tap allowed me to continue my Oktoberfest taste test. Both very tasty.



There was a concert in the park nearby that was excellent, Cajun Blues by Brother Sun.



Fatty Cue stand at the concert. They had Brooklyn Beer Oktoberfest on tap but I'll wait for next week.



The Greenmarket starts to have some beautiful displays at this time of year.



I paid $20 more for the print version because I prefer that to the cheaper ( by far) E-Version.

I have read a lot on the Kennedy Assassination and an old College roommate is an expert. Will try this one only because I thought the Killing Lincoln was better than expected. Heard he discusses George de Mohrenschildt, who is one of the more interesting people around Oswald in Dallas.



Nate Silver's new book The Signal and the Noise has been ordered. I encountered "Bayesian inference" in my readings on Randomness. More to come in this book. I also expect to see Random Walks , Chinese Restaurant and Monte Carlo processes.

I do the On-Line Jumble every morning. Most of the times I finish in under a minute. I rarely get a perfect score, under 30 seconds, because just moving the letters is time-consuming. Not today, but it was a short answer.
