Next year is the 100th Anniversary of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.



My trip to the Whitney museum was fine until I was told that George Bellows' Dempsey and Firpo was no longer on display.



Unusual settings.



Lots of Hopper including : A Woman in the Sun.



Jimmie Durham's exhibition was thought provoking.



Criterion collection was 60% off at Barnes and Noble. Bought The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. is a terrific Ashe.



Richard Burton gives an understated yet powerful performance as Alec Leamas.




Thanksgiving on the way, cranberries abound.

Pearl Harbor. 72 years ago.



The Italian Cultural Institute of New York has an exhibition on Machiavelli this month, celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the publication of The Prince :686 Park Avenue only open M - F, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.



Cranberries in the sun.



Today is Lasagna day. Went to Leo's Latticini in Corona for some fresh noodles. Stopped at the Lemon Ice King of Corona as long as I was in the area.

Yeah, an extra hour. Or is it just a shift in time and schedules ? Depends on how you look at it. I'm going with an extra hour.



Cranberries have arrived. My new find: fresh Broccoli, today $1.50 a pound. I microwave it for four minutes with garlic and soy sauce.



Beer for the weekend is Guinness Red Harvest Stout.
