I always knew the Blueberries were healthy.



March of the Wooden Soldiers on tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. on channel 11, followed by eight The Honeymooners then repeated at 3 p.m.



Today is pie pick-up day. First stop is Momofuku Milk Bar for some Crack Pie, then on to the Greenmarket for Sweet Potato and Apple Pies.



And, Brooklyn Blackout cupcakes.

Another is Mary Martin's Peter Pan. Can't locate my DVD. Will have to watch Peter Pan Live ! just to see Christopher Walken's Captain Hook. It will be hard to top Cyril Ritchard.

Happy Thanksgiving !

The only thing I contribute to the Thanksgiving Meal is Gravy and Carving the Bird. I only indulge in Gravy on Thanksgiving and Christmas. A guilty pleasure. Why is it that Gravy is only really good the day you make it ? The next day Gravy is never as good.



Wines for the day : Smoking Loon Pinot Noir and Rock Rabbit Sauvignon Blanc.



Another of my life's guilty pleasures is Cheez Doodles. I only eat them twice a year, Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.



March of the Wooden Soldiers, Peter Pan and Mimosas. A house filled with the aroma of a Turkey cooking. Nice Thanksgiving, lots to be thankful for, including the end of radiation and Chemo for a loved one.



Henry Brandon AKA Henry Kleinbach as Silas Barnaby. Was only 21 years old when he did the part.

Happy Thanksgiving !

Babes in Toyland aka March of the Wooden Soldiers is a Thanksgiving tradition. I have the DVD but watching it on Channel 11 is part of the tradition too ( there was an uproar several years ago when they didn't run it.)

Ollie Dee: [Bo Peep is being forced to marry Barnaby] Stannie's so upset he isn't even going to the wedding. You're upset aren't you Stannie?
Stannie Dum: Upset? I'm housebroken!
Ollie Dee: Not housebroken!
Ollie Dee: [to Bo Peep] He means 'heartbroken'
Ollie Dee: [scoffs] Housebroken.



Watched The Dead Zone starring Christopher Walken. Herbert Lom is excellent in it.That got me thinking of the above video, the guy can really dance. When I used to live in Astoria, I would go to the Walken bakery at times, it was a fantastic place.

spiked with alcohol. Not too good, but a Thanksgiving tradition.
Also watched Wizard of Oz (produced by Mervyn LeRoy) and Peter Pan.



Next on the reading list, a new Biography
of Louis Armstrong.

3. Peter Pan with Mary Martin. IMDB.

Finished 1 & 2, about to watch 3 and then on to Football.
