Happy Birthday Father Abraham!

Went to Gramercy Farmer and Fish. Crowded, cramped but the service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions were smaller than most other places (one shrimp in Tuna main dish and three oysters in the oyster pan roast.) I will take quality over quantity any time. The Octopus appetizer was great as was the S'mores. Both dishes becoming staples in NYC restaurants.

Going to the¡Cuba! exhibit at AMNH. Looking forward to the Mummies exhibit in March.

Chateau La Tour L'aspic Pauillac Red Bordeaux 2009. When the going gets tough, the tough reach for a good Bordeaux.

The Magnificent Seven wasn't bad. I'd rate it #3 of the versions, but it was entertaining. and were great. Two lines from the 1960 movie:

Vin: Reminds me of that fellow back home that fell off a ten story building.
Chris: What about him?
Vin: Well, as he was falling people on each floor kept hearing him say, "So far, so good." Tch... So far, so good!

and

Calvera: If God didn't want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep.

The debate will be worth watching. You can say it will be historic, I remember listening to the Kennedy / Nixon debates on the radio.

Don't usually order desserts but the S'mores Chocolate Bread Pudding at Giorgio's of Gramercy is something special.
