Happy Father's Day ! It's hard getting Corona, They stopped production in April. I was able to get their Brown version. Production resumed June 1st.

Speaks for itself.

Yesterday was Summer Solstice. A few showed up.

Today, I went with a mix. Not bad. a little too much salt but quite good.

Lots of street art in Manhattan.

Watched the Battle of the Bulge. A hot mess and full of inaccuracies. A long movie, it even had an opening orchestra and intermission. The best parts: Telly Savalas as "Guffy", the Panzer youngsters singing Panzerlied (frightening in how youth can be indocrinated and Robert Shaw re-enacting Red Grant as a Nazi.

A visit to Times Square. A ghost town.

Happy Father's Day!

I'll have a beer later, starting out with Bloody Marys.

Thrillist has the Most Scenic Dives in Each State. New York features: Hawk's Nest, Take Route 97 out of Port Jervis, and your next 90 minutes will be filled with an impossibly beautiful series of bends abutted by sheer rock faces on one side, and a steep drop overlooking the Delaware River on the other.

In my travels, I remember the roads above the Finger Lakes as being beautiful.

I have driven through the Crow's nest many times, it too is awesome and beautiful.

A shot from the highway of the Delaware River.

Nice Father's Day Chicken and Ribs deal at Boston Market. $30, bought an extra chicken for $1.99.

Happy Eastover and April Fool's Day. Starting with chocolate and Bloody Marys.

I did two ESPN brackets: one has Virginia winning, the other Vilanova. The losing bracket is in the 90%, the Villanova 74%. This will change if Villanova wins. I am also in a pool and I have Michigan. Guess who I am rooting for to win.

I am very tired of the "Snow Date" Mercedes Benz TV ad but I was captured by the music playing in the background:“Make You Feel My Love” by Sleeping At Last.

Here's the full song, Adele also does a fine version. Written by Bob Dylan.

Had Strozzapreti ( "priest-choker" or "priest-strangler") at Baita last night. Wiki explains:

There are several legends to explain the name.

One is that gluttonous priests were so enthralled by the savory pasta that they ate too quickly and choked themselves, sometimes to death. Another explanation involves the "azdora" ("housewife" in the Romagna's dialect), who "chokes" the dough strips to make the strozzapreti: "... in that particular moment you would presume that the azdora would express such a rage (perhaps triggered by the misery and difficulties of her life) to be able to strangle a priest!" Another legend goes that wives would customarily make the pasta for churchmen as partial payment for land rents (In Romagna, the Catholic Church had extensive land properties rented to farmers), and their husbands would be angered enough by the venal priests eating their wives' food to wish the priests would choke as they stuffed their mouths with it. The name surely reflects the diffuse anticlericalism of the people of Romagna and Tuscany.

Another possible explanation is that the pasta resembles a clerical collar, commonly referred to as a "Priest Choker".

Gift cards from above, will have to hit the internet.

1984 DVDs from Amazon. In the 1956 version the character O'Brien( Played by ) is re-named O'Connor, possibly to avoid confusion with Edmund O'Brien.

Well...I made it up, not long, but enough to have a picture to prove it.

The Knicks look exciting again. Big if is staying healthy. I do like Noah, good D and plays hard. Lots of $ being thrown throughout the league at mid-level players.

First corn of the season, a little small but welcome nonetheless.

Sunflower.

Not always available, now it will be Sunday bloody Sunday.

Arthur Seaton: They have a television set and a packet of fags, but they're both dead from the neck up.
