As expected, most restaurants have extended
Restaurant Week until Labor Day.

Every year, friends and I do a trip to
Fire Island.

Clammers used to be all over, now
there are just a few.

One guy owns a big boat and we cross
the bay.

The beach wasn't crowded on an
overcast day.

We went to a bar and played Pool.
We were the first ones in, an hour later it was packed.
$3 Bloodies or Mimosas made it easy to stay.

Lots of Ducks by the dock.

Smith & Wollensky was great. Went for the $40 wine special.
Since wine was $12 a glass, this made sense. Service was
superb and because we went at 2:00 p.m. , the place wasn't a
madhouse. The Filet Mignon was done just right and the
Hashed Browns ( Add $7) were a real treat. Will be going to
Crate and Barrel to get some over-sized Wine glasses like
were used here.

This is the first choice for Restaurant Week.
The menu looks great. Got to go with Surf 'n Turf.
Beer menu looks sparse, will decide later if wine is better.

Restaurant Week has arrived.
The site now lists participating Restaurants.
Three weeks this time.

Summer Streets.
NYC will temporarily close Park Avenue and connecting streets
from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park to motor vehicles and
open it up to people on three consecutive Saturdays in August
(August 8, 15, & 22).
