Next Sunday, NYC names a street in honor of Walter Becker.

Saw Smokey Joe's Cafe, the last performance is November 4th, before a national tour. Great show. Fantastic voices and dancing. The band was playing its asses off. Kansas City was sung by a female. What do you do to the lyrics? You change them to "crazy way of lovin, and I'm gonna get me some," the original:

Goin' to Kansas City
Kansas City here I come
Goin' to Kansas City
Kansas City here I come
Got some crazy little women there
I'm gonna get me one

If it is Labor Day weekend, it is outlet time. Must be getting old, bought underwear and kitchen utensils and one Converse T-shirt.

Finally saw Cats. Liked it. Had second row seats near the drain pipe, Cats running and jumping around me.

RIP Walter Becker. Rickie Lee Jones wrote a nice tribute in Rolling Stone.
