16 years ago, still hurts.

Grand Central Oyster Bar for lunch.

The New York Public Library is quite impressive.

Bought and finished A Legacy of Spies. Now I have to reread The Spy Who Came in from the Cold.

"
9/11 is part of me. It's a part of all of us. People say, 'Are you going to move on?' and the answer is, we move forward, but it always stays with us."
— Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, 1 World Trade Center, who survived 9/11 because he was at his son's first day of school.

Coming along.

It has been almost ten years.

Outside the hotel window, 24th Floor.

Hope to see more progress next year.

Still makes me want to cry.

On the side of St. Peter's church.

St. Peter's Church.

Ground Zero Pit from the 39th Floor.

Still lots to be done.

Don't think they'll be done by 09/11/2011.

Brunch was at Maracas, 33 Greenwich Avenue in the Village. It was packed and the frozen Margaritas were delicious. The food was decent and got to see plenty of Easter Paraders walking by. The Margaritas are unlimited for 90 minutes and they keep them coming. The brunch order was $9.99 and the drink option was another $5. A real bargain.

You know it is Spring, Forsythias blooming everywhere. All along main-traveled roads, a splash of yellow.

Next weekend is my annual downtown trip. Still amazed at the sloth-like pace of rebuilding. I read this week that an agreement was hashed out and the pace will quicken. When I see the site, I always start to well-up and hold back the tears.

As always, Margaritas and Final Four games will be in the mix.

The Iron Cross is still there.

My room had a view of the new construction.

About the same as last year.

The Financial center in the distance.

Today's NYT puzzle is a real treat by Matt Ginsberg. His interview in Wordplay also tips you to two cool programs: Clue Finder and Wordnet.

Going downtown tonight.

Lots of Margaritas expected. I prefer the Cadillac version
which adds Grand Marnier. At home, I use GranGala which is
essentially the same thing, only about $15 cheaper.

You take a little Ale.

Your pour Guinness Draught over a large spoon. (Official Spoon above.)

Voila ! A Half and Half.
Sláinte! - "To Your Health!"

A real busy schedule ahead.

St. Patrick's Day Tuesday. Irish Coffees to start the day.
Céad míle fáilte -A Hundred Thousand Welcomes.

Now playing at The Theater for the New City:"The Lonely Soldier Monologues (Women at War In Iraq.)" This limited run is selling out quickly.

Phoebe Snow at Queens Theatre in the Park :March 28, 2009.
Only 31 seats left.

Also, a night downtown. A visit to Ground Zero and
the Tribute Museum. I used to work down there. I still have
a hole in my heart over it.

While downtown, I know it is a chain, but the North End Avenue
location is rarely crowded, the food is good and the
Margaritas are huge: Chevys.
