Since St. Patrick's day is on a Monday, this is St. Patrick's Day weekend. Time for soda bread and Irish Coffee.

Went to the A-10 championships at the Barclays Center for two afternoon games. Nice arena, actually better than MSG.

Oh yeah, I am ready. Half and Halfs coming up with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as the bottom half. The name "Black and Tan" is not used in Ireland as a term for a mixture of two beers, the drink is instead referred to as a Half and half due to the association with the Royal Irish Constabulary Reserve Force, nicknamed the "Black and Tans", which was sent into Ireland in the early 1920s.

St. Patrick's Day and March Madness. What could be better ? Guinness is the beer for the night, with a little Harp and then later some Ale mixed in. Will peek in on the Knicks game too.

Louisville (Like Fredo): "You Broke My Heart." As well as my Bracket. Princeton/Kentucky game was wild. Butler/Old Dominion and Richmond/Vanderbilt games were great. The Tourney is the best sports event of the year. Go Redmen !

GreenPort Harbor Brewing Company Disorient IPA
This American style India Pale Ale features three of the finest American ‘C’ hops: Chinook, Columbus, and Cascade. Bold hoppiness is offset with notes of caramel sweetness from crystal malt. abv 6.2%

The Greenport IPA goes well with Guinness Draught.

Directions for a proper pour, I use a handy Guinness spoon to make a perfect Black and Tan.

This being a birthday week, plenty on tap for tomorrow: Mimosas, Breakfast, Best Buy Barnes and Noble and Chevy's Fresh Mex.

Beer for the weekend is Guinness Draught.

Great seventh game, I rooted for the lesser of two evils. The Lakers also have Phil Jackson and Ron Artest. Ron was hilarious , he thanked his Psychiatrist.

US was lucky to get a tie. The call by Referee Koman Coulibaly taking away the winning goal was a disgrace.

Subway Series time. Go Yankees !

A real busy schedule ahead.

St. Patrick's Day Tuesday. Irish Coffees to start the day.
Céad míle fáilte -A Hundred Thousand Welcomes.

Now playing at The Theater for the New City:"The Lonely Soldier Monologues (Women at War In Iraq.)" This limited run is selling out quickly.

Phoebe Snow at Queens Theatre in the Park :March 28, 2009.
Only 31 seats left.

Also, a night downtown. A visit to Ground Zero and
the Tribute Museum. I used to work down there. I still have
a hole in my heart over it.

While downtown, I know it is a chain, but the North End Avenue
location is rarely crowded, the food is good and the
Margaritas are huge: Chevys.
