Not much of a storm, great for NYC schoolkids --Snow Day!

Mardi Gras tomorrow. Late this year, as is Easter. Lots of Bagels and cookies for my work mates. A colleague and I feed the masses every year. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Cajun music too. New addition this year: Beads!

Laissez les bons temps rouler.

"Corresponding months" are those months within the calendar year that start on the same day of the week. February and March are the same except for Leap Years.

Ash Wednesday this week. I will be giving up all sweets and snacking, my usual fast. It is a useful exercise, giving up things. You notice your patterns and habits. I will partake in Mardi Gras, lots of Bagels and cookies for my work mates. A colleague and I feed the masses every year. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Cajun music too.

Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return.

The reminder of Ash Wednesday brings home that my shelf life is about 17-20 years left, God willing. Heaven knows how good my mental and physical health will stand up. I guess It brings home the point that every day should be made worthwhile.

The Clash was featured in today's NYT crossword. This is an old picture from May of 2012, a new mural was put up in 2013.

Rainy morning and not too crowded.

Beer for the weekend is Sam Adams Noble Pils, a seasonal offering.

Moonageddon: Lunar Perigee coming up March 19th, a Full "Super Moon." The moon will make its closest approach to Earth (called lunar perigee) in 18 years.

I see the bad moon rising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see bad times today.

Don't go around tonight
Well it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise.

Laissez les bons temps rouler ! ''What you gonna do,'' asks Buckwheat Zydeco, ''when the zydeco turn it up on you?''
