Great reunion piece on MSG network. This was after a broadcast of the 7th game, fifty years ago.

MSG, great arena. Too bad the host team has no decent guards in a guard-oriented league.

Hey Chase: how about paying me to see these chumps ?

Finally watched Ricky Jay: Deceptive Practice on American Masters. The New Yorker article which inspired it was in the April 5, 1993 Issue: Secrets of the Magus. Great show ! Grantland has a nice piece on the documentary.

Flydini was conceived with Ricky Jay's assistance. "To Ricky, Without you there would be no Flydini. Think about it, Steve."

Blue Smoke is the first Restaurant Week visit. Love the little clothespin holding the RW menu. Great deal, go with the ribs.

Happy Birthday George ! I still marvel at the history that wasn't taught : Washington's Owning over 300 slaves.

Flowers in the sun. Beautiful day. Went to P.E. and D.D. Seafood for squid and scallops. Will add shrimp for a red sauce seafood linguini.

Never saw this before. Tyson Chandler prevents ball from going through the cylinder with his own head after a dunk. Offensive interference and a metaphor for the Knicks season of doom.

Nothing much to watch, so Olympics is on most of the time. The Russian figure skater Julia Lipnitskaia was incredible.

Today's Knick / Thunder game is the key to the rest of their season.

Carmelo gets 62 last night and breathes life back into the Knicks. They can still make the playoffs.

HR Block Tax software. Usually have the returns almost done but this year I have to pay, and that's after having a lot deducted. Also, everything is pushed back this year because the IRS was closed during the sequestration.

At the Garden, Bronx Ale, a win. All is good.

He still takes questionable shots but he plays hard. 29 points and 16 rebounds is quite an effort. Knicks now in eighth place.

What a game ! Iman Shumpert's put-back dunk was awesome. Pablo put a spark in the run and Carmelo finished it. Charles Barkley and Shaq wrote off the Knicks at half-time. Good thing that the game is four quarters.

This was the Threeball that clinched it. Like all good scorers, Carmelo wiped out the bad previous shots ( 19 straight missed 3-pointers over last three games) and knocked this one down. This was a TEAM win.

Word of the day: DAP. It is usually included in NBA Pre-Game Rituals. According to the Urban Dictionary, it has evolved from: The knocking of fists together.

The Knicks are a great road team. Time to re-live the 40th Anniversary of beating the Celtics in a game seven at Boston Garden by the 72 -73 Championship Knicks.

With JR Smith back, the Knicks should coast. I had picked them in five. They are the better team. I never realized the extent of JR Smith's Tatoos.

Pablo Prigioni had a great game. I picked the Knicks in five. I now think it will be a sweep.

Picked this up at the Library. My third Whitey Bulger book. Fascinating story. Irish to the core.

Picked this up at Barnes and Noble with a 20% coupon. I never heard of this guy but just read a New Yorker profile. Then I read his interview by the Paris Review. I'll give this one a go and maybe try others. I haven't read any Fiction for a while.

The Knicks are clearly the better team. Time to close this one out.

December 17, 2012 - Last week's Knicks / Lakers Game

I had good seats but my boys had floor seats.

Kobe looked a little hurt at times. I think his back is hurting him. Just read an interesting article in Grantland how Kobe's misses usually lead to an offensive rebound for the Lakers.

Looks like Novak has got his stroke back. Novacaine !

Action shot.

From my seats.

Tyson Chandler is a beast.

Got to love what Jason Kidd brings to the Knicks. Many things he does do not show up in the Stat sheets.

Rasheed Wallace brings that defensive intensity every night. Shoots a mean Three-Ball too.

Great game, great start to a new season. Carmelo and Novak to the bank.

Union Square Greenmarket was at Madison Square Park today.

Picked up a Tom Cat Bakery Baguette today. I used to go to their plant in LIC to get bread. Good stuff.

Sandy wiped out this Willow. Still a danger as of today.

Did everything right with Sandy except topping off my Car's Gas Tank. Tried the water in Freezer Bags to make Giant Ice Blocks. Worked well.

Sandy took this sign off the building next door.

World's Best Hot Dogs are right down the block from me : Dominick's.

R.I.P. NY Knicks. Still, a very exciting and watchable season. A flawed team but lots of fun to watch.

Survivor One World Finale tomorrow night. Looks like Kimsanity rules. Probably Chelsea and Sabrina in final Three.

Mother's day in this house starts with Mimosas and Godiva Truffles. Beautiful day in store.

Wild, attention-grabbing cover. Just in time for Mother's Day. Skål!

Still my favorite Magazine cover of all time. I have the original. Playdead's interview of Dan Blocker was hilarious.

Nyro's son, hip-hop artist Gil Bianchini, accepted on his mother's behalf Saturday night in Cleveland. About time !

Big game, they are all big games from here on in. I don't want just a good showing, they can beat these guys.

Well if you don't make foul shots and you allow offensive rebounds, you lose.

Carmelo finally comes through in the clutch. The Knicks moved into a tie for seventh place with the 76ers -- one game ahead of the ninth-place Bucks in the battle for the eighth and final playoff spot. Big win.

Watched a lot of movies over the weekend. Moneyball was OK but Jonah Hill was terrific.
Bridesmaids was uneven with some funny moments. Melissa McCarthy was a revelation, she was that good.
