                                       Great line from the play:

Plato:“Then tell me, O Critias, how will a man choose the ruler that shall rule over him? Will he not choose a man who has first established order in himself, knowing that any decision that has its spring from anger or pride or vanity can be multiplied a thousandfold in its effects upon the citizens?”

 $25 and $23.50 wins!

Re-reading the Foundation series. The Mule is one hell of a creation.
The City Game, my first audible book. It was free. A 14 hour listen when I could read it in about two hours. Yet, I am enjoying the unusual way to absorb a book.

April 5, 2020

March 5, 2020 was a different world. Look at where we are a month later. I am in the epicenter of the epicenter. I go to work every day as the point-person for the rest of my staff who are working at home. The work I do is deemed essential. Lots of people coming down with it. I pray that it is the mild version.

Grocery Stores becoming careful. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods were ahead of the curve in this regard. I have to applaud Stop and Shop for their senior hours.

Comfort brought Comfort.

Nature keeps on going on, cherry blossoms are back for their short visit.

Always time for BBQ. I am trying an interesting range of take-out spots. This one had Avocado fries.

Fewer places to get the lottery tickets but I found some. Last night: $20 win and two free tickets.

City Center to see Ailey Revealed. A friend was just telling me how great Judith Jamison is and then I come across her picture. She choreographed two pieces: A Case of You and Divining. Ailey's Revelations was the best. Really liked Rocka My Soul in the Bosom of Abraham.

The bosom of Abraham reminded me of Mistress Quickly's report of Falstaff's death:
Nay, sure, he’s not in hell! He’s in Arthur’s
bosom, if ever man went to Arthur’s bosom.
Mistress Quickly, in William Shakespeare, Henry V, Act 2, Scene 3.

The original:
And it came to pass, that the beggar(Lazarus) died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:19-31 King James Version (KJV)

I never knew until yesterday that the Stones classic had Gospel roots.

This may be the last time
This may be the last time, children
This may be the last time
May be the last time children I don't know

May be the last time we stay together
May be the last time I don't know
I'm goin' home to meet my mother
May be the last time I don't know

I can play it on the Guitar, one of the first songs I learned.

Well I told you once and I told you twice
But ya never listen to my advice
You don't try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy
Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I don't know, oh no, oh no

So far, an interesting read.
