Tonight on Turner Classic Movies at 10:30 P.M. The original Broadway cast featured John Carradine as Marcus Lycus (Phil Silvers in the movie.) My new DVR will be recording for later viewings.
"Tragedy tomorrow,Comedy tonight!"
From the 1971 Tony awards. The original play ran from 1962 - 1964.

Picked this up from Barnes and Noble. Had a coupon which would give 10 % to 50% off at checkout. I received 15% on top of my membership 10%. This book was on my radar for a while. Always wanted to know more about Hannibal.
After discounts, this DVD cost $6.00. One of my favorites.
Three Blind Mice from Dr. No.
At this point, the Greenmarket is Pumpkins and Tomatoes.
Oh yeah, and Gourds too.

What a week of Crossword puzzles. Sent in my answer to the Meta-Puzzle this morning. Solved it without the second clue because I do the Daily Jumble. Read people's comments and it took a while but finally understood the second clue. Pretty, pretty good Mr. Berry.
OWS descended on Union Square. Police presence diverted them from the park.
The Old Town Bar on 18th Street. The sign on the door is not quite Statue of Liberty quality. Compare:
"Hearty welcome to Zuccotti Mob (provided bathed and powdered, at least bathed, and not looking for a handout.)"
To:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
The Village Voice voted The Academy Used CD store on West 18th Street as the Best in NYC.
Picked up these four for under $25.
Across the street was this nice sight.
Just rolled out, have to try it. Image is from a small card, trying out my new Printer/Scanner.
The NY Post wild headline, a NY tradition. Almost as good as "Headless Body in Topless Bar."
You know you drink too much when a new liquor store opens and you feel like when you were a kid as a new candy store opened. This one had a statue of Jack Daniels.

Map of NYC AYCD (All You Can Drink) Brunches or "Drunches."
One of The Outer Limits best: "The Zanti Misfits."
Just nominated for the National Book Award. On the list of things to read.
Watching the Giants with Brooklyn Brewery's "The Companion" makes me think of The Wild Bunch :
Pike Bishop: We're not gonna get rid of anybody! We're gonna stick together, just like it used to be! When you side with a man, you stay with him! And if you can't do that, you're like some animal, you're finished! *We're* finished! All of us!

Not that many but all whacked out.

Hilton Garden Inn at Riverhead, NY: Wine, Tangers and Seafood.
Did the Wine Tasting Tour package. Had a little windfall and decided to try it. Did my own tour two years ago, but knew this weekend was going to be crowded and wanted to drink more.
Pindar was the first stop.
Saw the inside of the production area. The Oak Barrels had a delightful odor.
A Wine Press. Beats using feet.
Malbec before going into Oak Barrels. Maybe one should not see the production.
It was interesting. The Vineyards we went to were more crowded and regimented. Yet, a good guide who knew everyone helped with the madness. There were eight people in all for the tour. Getting room for eight is harder than you think, but the guide used to work there. Made things a lot easier for a hectic scene.
Pumpkin picking caused most of the tie-ups on the road. Traffic jams galore.
Duck Walk North was next and less crowded. The tour included a Box Lunch and there was a beautiful Patio and entertainment. The Music was mostly Jimmy Buffet and a bottle of Cabernet helped to endure it. The Tasting was terrific and the staff kept things amusing.
Jason's Vineyard was last and had a terrific Meritage and the above, The Golden Fleece. The place was rocking and reminded me of the Hamptons.

Pumpkins in the sun at the Greenmarket.
The Lady in Black blew a kiss when I put a $1 bill in the urn.
ilili at Madison Square Eats had Roasted Lamb Shawarma. An incredible sandwich.
Fun with Eggplants. Beer and wine to boot. Spatan Octoberfest, Smuttynose Porter and
Ommegang were sampled.
Ruined my Autumn. These three. A-Rod bats .111 for the ALDS and .000 in important at bats. At Baseball Player Salaries they point out that in 2011 he cost the Yankees $72,429 per at bat.
Big disappointment. $32,894 per at bat. For the ALDS: .167 , .000 in important at bats.
Nothing to laugh at for this ALDS .211 , .000 in important at bats. $14,173 per at bat.
From Buzzfeed.
On the list of next reads. Astonishing story.
Halfway through it. Same story as above.
