Staten Island Pizza tour continues: Lee's Tavern, 60 Hancock St., Staten Island. No name on the front. Classic old-school bar and the Pizza is different. Thin crust, excellent sauce and quite tasty. Sam Adams Octoberfest and they said keep the glass. Great place. Cash only.

"I desire to go to Hell and not to Heaven. In the former I shall enjoy the company of popes, kings and princes, while in the latter are only beggars, monks and apostles."

Blues and BBQ at Pier 84 today. BBQ by Dinosaur, Mighty Quinn's and Delaney. Pretty impressive lineup. Featuring Modelo Beer.

Green Hairy Balls at $7 a bunch, what a deal !

The Slide Brothers put on a nice show.

Pier 44 is next to the Intrepid Museum.

Lines were ok when I arrived, they were ridiculous when I left. Had an outstanding Brisket from Mighty Quinn's washed down with a Negra Modelo.

Crowd in Peru.

Ok, ordered the 40th Anniversary six CD set.

I am cooking with Gas, found this iconic picture. I know the woman with the broom.

Summer Streets finishes today. I went to the tunnel with ocean noises. Not that great but the walk around Grand Central Station was great.

Crazy in that I was looking for this wine and I stumbled upon it in a place nearby.

45th Anniversary starts today. Will pick up the Director's cut DVD that was put out for the 40th and watch it this weekend. My I-Pod is playing songs from the CD, crazy with the announcements interspersed.

From my recent visit to the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and the original site. Interesting that this year the dates match the Festival schedule: Friday the 15th, 1969 being the first day. Wild year that 1969: Man on the Moon, Mets World Series and the start of College for me.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts was interesting but a short film about the music and the artists was the best part of it.

Road Trip. Went to an old Swimming Hole.

An old Fishing Hole deep in the back woods.

Wild Blueberries, tart and delicious.

James Brown - Full T.A.M.I Show Performance, 1964 , featured in a New Yorker piece.

Summer Streets very crowded. Nicer day.

I received e-mails and correspondence from Time Warnertelling me that I should replace my modem for a new faster internet speed at no extra cost. Speed going from 35 mps to 300. Ok, installed the new modem after it was shipped to me. No new speed and now the phone doesn't work. I call tech services, can't help, they say get another modem. That I do, same problem. They then send a technician to my home. He informs me that my neighborhood isn't properly wired yet for the new system. May take a month, maybe sooner.

Yikes ! I wouldn't have bothered and now I have no phone and I also had to change printer and Netflix WiFi settings. I called Time Warner to complain. They gave me a $50 phone credit. Will call again after a while. I still have my cell phone and that is what most people I know call me on, but the home phone wakes me up when I get late night calls, which I sometimes get for work-related matters. The only upside was my billing was changed to add two more channels, Showtime and The Movie Channel, with a reduction of $54 a month in my bill.

Good and bad together but ultimately annoying since I pay a lot for the service.

Today and the next two Saturdays are Summer Streets.

The Whole Foods Picnic had long lines but lots of free stuff.

Christ of the Andes on the top; not the original, but the one on the Argentine / Chile border has this inscription in Spanish: "Sooner shall these mountains crumble into dust than Argentines and Chileans break the peace sworn at the feet of Christ the Redeemer."
