The American Museum of Natural History has opened up parts of the research library’s collection for viewing on the Internet.

I don't usually watch the NBA Playoffs this early but the games are incredible. Just like the NCAA's, this has been wild. Grantland is a great read at this time of year. Great quote:" The Indiana guys look like they hate playing with each other — they’re interacting like divorced parents who just ran into each other at their son’s youth soccer game."

Interesting interview of E.O. Wilson. "Ants are easy."

Since Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday, Dos Equis says start on Friday: Dos de Mayo.

Auto-suggestion or a Coueistic state of mind. "Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better." I knew it but had to look it up after seeing the word in Didion's The White Album.

Flounder from P.E. and D.D. Seafood topped with Shrimp.

I like his other stuff, why not try his wine ?

My $25 gift card and $3.90 nook settlement bought me this, an interesting read which had me looking up several words.

And this, unusual in that it was 16 oz.

Heard the Grateful Dead version and downloaded it. Never realized this Rolling Stone hit was written by Bobby Womack and his sister-in-law Shirley Womack..

Well I used to wake in the morning get my breakfast in bed
When I got worried she would ease my aching head
Well now she's here and there with every man in town
Still trying to take me for that same old clown

The Flowering Pear trees are in bloom throughout NYC. A short shelf life but beautiful.

Easter dinner will be Boston Market Ham and Chicken. My wife used to do the honors. I am a good cook but chicken and mashed potatoes is beyond my skill-set. I guess I could learn but Boston Market works for me.

I love a good true crime tale, Philip Leonetti's Mafia Prince was $10 after coupon and member discount.

I have been drinking more wine lately as I am on a weight loss regime - 15 pounds in two months. Happened to see this available at Brouwerij Lane and I'm sold. Weekend beer and time for A Fistfull of Dollars. The beer is an Imperial Chocolate Coffee Stout.

Forsythias in bloom, a sure sign of Spring.

Madison Square Eats will return to Madison Square Park from May 2 to May 31 this year. One of my favorite pop-ups.

I let my membership lapse. I like it for the discounts and free shipping. I renewed, received a new card and number. It was a hassle getting the new # registered to my online account but finally was able to do it. I received a bunch of welcome coupons which will be used today. Books and DVDs seem likely.

Greenmarket still pretty sparse but picked up seafood for linguini.

Positively 7th Street for me today: Luke's lobster , Porchetta, McSorley's and a quick trip to 6th street to Mighty Quinn's.

Prices are from another era.

American Hustle looks up my alley. Getting it made my $5 off coupon viable. That was after 40% off as a member.

The Wolf of Wall Street, bought the book and the DVD.

Porchetta makes a small but very tasty sandwich.

I always start things later. I happened upon a review of Roku's streaming stick and now I'm in. My boys like streaming videos to their I-Pads, I don't. Now, I can set up a stream to my HDTV via this device the size of a thumb drive. I know I could have bought a Blu-Ray player or a stand-alone box. Just wasn't interested at the time. Maybe, I will catch up on all the things people discuss that I never watch like Breaking Bad or Mad Men. Of course, nobody had it. Ordered it from Best Buy for April 9th pick-up.

So, I enrolled in Netflix. My boys love it and they still watch on their I-Pads.

Streaming Netflix and Drinking Alone in Your Apartment This Weekend? Here’s What to Watch and Drink: sip and stream by Alyssa Bereznak is a hoot. She pairs Netflix movies with drinks. Adds: Any pairing can always be substituted with a large bottle of wine.

Since I can't watch it on Netflix just yet, I bought the DVD. I liked the graphic novel.

Renewed my B&N membership which I had let lapse.

Picked up some Gray Sole from P.E. and D.D. Seafood.
