Staycation and a quick road-trip before Labor Day. Been working hard , time to relax and hope I don't get bothered too much.

Supermoon: the term ‘supermoon’ is not astronomical. Scientists call this event a ‘perigee moon’: it takes place when the full Moon reaches the closest point to Earth on its oval orbit. This point is called perigee and it is about 50,000 km closer to our planet than the opposite side of the Moon’s elliptical path – apogee. Native Americans used to give every full moon a special name. For example, the full moon in August was often referred to as the Sturgeon Moon.

Had Potato Gnocchi with Mushroom sauce last night, delicious.

Dog days of August are here. The Romans called them "caniculares dies," or dog days. Late summer heat and rising Sirius (dog star) was the inspiration. Now often reckoned from July 3 to August 11. In Ancient Rome, the Dog Days ran from July 24 through August 24.

Boiling Frog theory crops up now and then in business and political reports. Seems like frogs have their own reaction. Still a good analogy.

My Firefox started getting very buggy, I tried uninstalling and kept getting a NSIS error. System restore would not work. Well, just so happens a new O/S is available. That did the trick. Pretty good so far.

I never got into Siri with Apple but Cortana for my desktop is pretty cool. She sang me On Top of Spaghetti this morning.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, not bad. is quite amusing.

I watched MI-3 a while ago just to see Philip Seymour Hoffman. I had liked him in Magnolia, which also featured Tom Cruise, a weird thought-provoking movie if there ever was one.

Greenmarket bounty.

So, I have to watch them all. Netflix has one and two. Just watched three on TMC. Ghost Protocol is the only one missing, I saw it but now want to watch it again. Will rent it on HBO Demand for $2.99.

Chapter 3 Proteus was a bear, needed lots of help to understand. First big batch of interior monologue.
