Too nice a day not to have a BBQ.
Traditional : Hot Dogs, Burgers, Italian Sausage
Potato Salad (German and regular) and Greek Salad.
Chicken Cutlets from last night as back-up.
Blue Point Rastafar Rye as the beer.

Movies on demand had Tom Jones. I'm now
inspired to read the Fielding tome. I hear it is
not as much fun as the movie. Hugh Griffith is a
blast. Gutenberg text download.

Blue Point Rastafar Rye, 7% ABV, was the latest
Growler beer from Community Beverages. A smooth
tasty piece of work. Nice beer for the current heat wave.

Gorgeous day, the joint was Jumpin- 9:00 a.m.

Lots of flowers, not as much seasonal food.

Golden Apples in the sun.

Criminis.

Some places in different areas because of construction.

PE and DD Seafood. Today's lunch -
Lobster, Crab Cakes and Calamari. Under $20.

Went to Wildwood for a brew. Abita Amber, a quick light Amber.
Real nice Spring Brew.

Went to City Crab for their Two-Course lunch special.
Crab Soup and a real big hunk of Sea Bass over Risotto.
Only $16.95, with a Blue Point Toasted Lager, $7. A terrific
lunch that didn't kill the budget. Linguini with Scallops, $16.95,
with salad and a Pinot Grigio , $10, was the other course. $65
including tip. Not bad.

Smuttynose Robust Porter. A wonderful beer. Went to
Brouwerij Lane for a Growler and it is about the best Porter
I have ever had.

Leo's Latticini in Corona is where I buy my lasagna noodles.
46-02 104th St, Queens, NY 11368. Their Mozzarella is out of this
world. I also bought their new product - Half Moon Raviolis.
Fantastic dish, the fillings are similar to what is used for Stuffed
Shells, rather than the regular Ravioli fillings.

Spring has surely sprung, I believe this is a flowering Pear Tree.

Same as above. On 108th Street, on the way to Leo's Latticini
the trees are lined up in full bloom.

Forsythias blooming throughout Queens.

Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout

From the Guinness Web Site:

"This is the year to celebrate! That’s why our Master Brewer has created the limited edition Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout. We used a proprietary brewhouse process that combines the use of stout and ale malt for a distinctive carbonated stout with a clean, smooth finish. This is the first new Guinness® stout we’ve introduced to the US since we first started importing Guinness® Draught in 1967, but it’s only available for a limited time. So starting on April 24th, get out with some friends and try a pint of our brand new brew!"

This is my 100th post. I usually only do it on
weekends. Wow, has it been that long? I did a lot
of movie watching this weekend.

What is a yute?
My Cousin Vinny, Marisi Tomei's Oscar as
Mona Lisa Vito. Sunday 04/12/09 - NYT 63 across.

Gay Sinese is terrific in this one, as is Delroy Lindo.

Last night on Turner Classic Movies. Eli Wallach
steals the show.

Tonight on Cable, the best Sci-Fi Movie ever.
Was Deckard a Replicant?

Hop Back Amber via a Growler. Tröegs Brewery’s Flagship beer.
Very similar to the Sixpoint Sweet Action ale I had last month.

Tuborg was featured in the NYT Crossword today 04/11/09. I
could not locate one in my vicinity but found a few places on the
Net. I'll be picking one up soon. Until then, I'll drown my sorrow in
Hop Back Amber.

The Iron Cross is still there.

My room had a view of the new construction.

About the same as last year.

The Financial center in the distance.

Today's NYT puzzle is a real treat by Matt Ginsberg. His interview in Wordplay also tips you to two cool programs: Clue Finder and Wordnet.

Going downtown tonight.

Lots of Margaritas expected. I prefer the Cadillac version
which adds Grand Marnier. At home, I use GranGala which is
essentially the same thing, only about $15 cheaper.
