GQ has a great Oral History of Cheers.

I do the On-Line Jumble every morning. Most of the times I finish in under a minute. I rarely get a perfect score, under 30 seconds, because just moving the letters is time-consuming. Not today, but it was a short answer.

Purple Cauliflower in the Sun.

Cornucopias start to emerge.

Another Cornucopia.

The Secrets of the FBI by Ronald Kessler is a follow-up to his other book on the Bureau, which I had read,: THE FBI: Inside the World's Most Powerful Law Enforcement Agency. The interesting parts were about the TacOps group and background on how Hansen was caught. Money is so important in Spycraft. He really goes after Freeh and Sessions. Blames Hillary for Foster's suicide.

Autumn in New York, Ella and Satch.

"Thieves! Fire! Murder! Such a thing had not happened since first he came to the mountain! His rage passes description- the sort of rage that is only seen when rich folk that have more than they can enjoy suddenly lose something that they have long had but never before used or wanted."

A guilty pleasure of mine is Big Brother. I know it is scripted ala Wrestling, they even have "Babyfaces" and "Heels." I can't help it, I see it as a Psychiatric field test. Now, it is Dan v. Ian. Who will the winner take with them ?

I faithfully watch Meet the Press every week. Today was David Gregory's best performance. But , the line of the day goes to Bob Woodward: "You can't have a Government Policy to deal with angry people."

Apples at the Forest Hills Greenmarket.

Saw this in Barnes and Noble but didn't buy it. Then , there it was in the Queens Library "Hot Picks" section. War stories told to a professional writer. But, there are some great lines. Lots of Queens County action.

Man, was that a blown call. Yankees tied for first, hope they can win today. Apparently, the umpire, Jerry Meals, has a history of blown calls.

Guinness Black Lager is the weekend beer.

Google's Star Trek Doodle was great. Takes you on a little adventure with sound effects. Each screen gives you three options, Tribbles in the transporter room overhead compartment in the second screen

Scroll over the "I'm feeling lucky" button and it changes to one of several options: "I'm feeling trendy" ,"I'm feeling wonderful", "I'm feeling Hungry" and "I'm feeling puzzled.

There are now two sellers of White Corn. This is the best of the season.

Buddhas in the sun and one monkey.

Easy Tomato Sauce. I don't usually make fresh because it turns out too watery. I asked and was told to let it simmer two hours or more.

Street Fair on Fourth Avenue had Boston Chowda. I would have tried it but for the heat and it was 10:00 a.m.

These looked interesting. People carrying them looked like cult members or aliens.

Jack on the wall, Bowery.

Alec likes the Monopoly Man.

Occupy Wall Street is not dead.
