Memorial Day.
The Dirty Dozen on TCM today at 5;15 pm. John Cassavetes is still my favorite. Saw him last night in an old Columbo: Étude in Black (1972.)

Finished Julius Caesar, Mark Antony is the key.
ANTONY:
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
The military order Havoc! was a signal given to the English military forces in the Middle Ages to direct the soldiery (in Shakespeare's parlance 'the dogs of war') to pillage and chaos.
Lee Van Cleef was the only reason I watched The Magnificent Seven Ride. Gary Busey has a bit part and is good,

Focus !
I was waiting for Krilencu to try to escape from the Staten Island wall art.
I am re-reading Julius Caesar in preparation for Shakespeare in the Park. Cassius is such an interesting character, John Gielgud played him in the 1953 movie.
Frozen Margarita time, trying out the Magic Bullet, so far so good.

Mimosas in honor of Mother's Day. My mother and wife are gone but they will be sharing this with me today. Was sick from a new brand of antibiotics last night. Was taking it after a tooth extraction. I hear carbonation helps settle the stomach. Also, drinking a lot of liquids will flush out the medicine.
$5 coupon, no cooking today.

Thanks to sites like Eater and Thrillist, I can explore the foods that I would like to try, like: Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.
And, the Chicago-style hot dog.
First time across the new Kosciuszko Bridge.
Lilacs all over the Greenmarket.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off was a love note to Chicago. The Art Institute sequence was a wonderful scene. A must visit when I go.
Going to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tonight.
