T-Rex The Ultimate Predator, another visit. The Virtual Reality section is great.
Frederick Douglass by The New-York Historical Society is a talking statue. Been around for a while, just noticed it, the talking part. Using Phone-App is best. Will try Gahndi in Union Square next.

Mothership Meat Company in LIC.
Excellent Brisket and nice area for outdoor dining.
Shiner Bock on tap!
Perfect score!
Harper is good. I have read quite a few Ross Macdonald novels, they always featured complicated plots. Character actor Robert Webber is chilling in his role as Dwight Troy.

Essex Market was great.
Shopsin's General Store was worth the visit. Had "The Bomb." The Deer head is from Nordic Preserves, Fish & Wildlife Co.
And, hey ,they had beer. Here, a Five Boroughs APA.
Doughnut Plant for a Creme Brulee.
As long as I am in the area, Kossar's Bialys are on tap.
Then to Hudson Yards. Little Spain is wonderful.
To top off a busy NYC day, Prince Street Pizza.
$20 win!

What happened to the Fool in Lear? No one knows. Lear at the end says: "And my poor fool is hanged." But, at that point, was he a reliable narrator?
Back to Much Ado Abouut Nothing.
The Allowed or Licensed Fool can say anything:
OLIVIA: Oh, you are sick of self-love, Malvolio, and taste
with a distempered appetite. To be generous,
guiltless and of free disposition, is to take those
things for bird-bolts that you deem cannon-bullets:
there is no slander in an allowed fool, though he do
nothing but rail; nor no railing in a known discreet
man, though he do nothing but reprove.
Benedict is a Fool according to "Lady Disdain":
BEATRICE: Why, he is the Prince’s jester, a very dull fool, only his gift
is in devising impossible slanders. None but libertines
delight in him, and the commendation is not in his wit but
in his villainy, for he both pleases men and angers them,
and then they laugh at him and beat him. I am sure he is in
the fleet. I would he had boarded me.

Happy Mother's Day! My early start: Mimosas.
Shakespeare in the Park starts with Much Ado About Nothing.I'm re-reading it and I have begun watching the Globe production. Eve Best and Charles Edwards make a fine pair.
Going deep into Much Ado About Nothing. Nothing and Noting throughout the play, being homophones at the time. No thing, Nothing was a euphemism for vagina back then. My first take is how similar the speeches of Beatrice and Benedict are to the usual jester set-pieces. Jesters in love, speaking truth, wise fools.
