$25 win!

R.I.P. Rutger Hauer.

Art in the park.

King Kong on Broadway. Closing soon.

Christiani Pitts was wonderful, with a great voice. Too bad the show wasn't good.

However, the puppet Kong, maneuvered by a team, was worth the price of admission.

Ah!! Restaurant Week began. Quick visit to my favorite: Smith and Wollensky. A great meal at a great price. They also brought back $40 wine bottles.

$20 win!

Perfect score!

The Lion King was okay. Animal computer renditions were incredible. Pumbaa and Timon again steal the show. Chiwetel Ejiofor is quite good as Scar. I have seen the animated, the Broadway play and now this one. I like the animated version the best.

Received my DVD.

A friend pointed this out to me:

If she says your behavior is heinous
Kick her right in the Coriolanus
Brush up your Shakespeare
And they'll all kow-tow

MARCIUS: Thanks. What's the matter, you dissentious rogues,
That, rubbing the poor itch of your opinion,
Make yourselves scabs?

MARCIUS: I am glad on 't: then we shall ha' means to vent
Our musty superfluity. See, our best elders.

Most dogs do not like July 4th. The explosions bother them.

"What to the American slave is your Fourth of July?" Douglass said. "To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity ... your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy — a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages." Frederick Douglass - 07/04/1852.

He later supported Lincoln and Grant.
