Happy Halloween! Candy galore, my favorites are: Reese's Peanut Butter cups (this year shaped as pumpkins), Kit Kat Bars and M & Ms.
Kudos to the Washington Nationals who won the World Series with all road game wins.

November looks like an infusion of money. Three paychecks and I operate on a two paycheck monthly budget. Maybe a time for a quick trip.
I never knew that Bed Bath and Coupons are accepted past the expiration dates. A woman on an elevator told me and I confirmed with others. Today, I used two $10 off a $30 purchase coupons. Better than the usual 20% ones.
Wow! What a take-down of a legendary steakhouse. I have been there and enjoyed it but the service was bad. Give me Smith and Wollensky or Morton's.

Early voting was a breeze.
Cornucopia.
Orange Empire State Building for Halloween? Actually, it was Orange In celebration of Diwali. Weird vibes in the Union Square area after seeing Joker. There must have been countless costume parties last night. So many people walking about in costume.
The New Yorker's Richard Brody said: “Joker” is a viewing experience of a rare, numbing emptiness.
I didn't like the movie but it did make me think. Maybe it is successful because people project something that a "by the numbers" plotted movie misses. Prisoners saw the essence of prison life in Waiting for Godot.
Joaquin Phoenix is incredible in this movie.
Although Joker is an Unreliable narrator, his first origin story was as Red Hood: a criminal who, during his final heist, vanishes after leaping into a vat of chemicals to escape Batman. His resulting disfigurement led him to adopt the name "Joker", from the playing card figure he came to resemble.

Heartbreaking loss. All credit to the better team.
$10 win! New look.
Things changing big time within my current employment. I'm lucky that I have options. Still disconcerting. As the above quotes show: living in the now is important. Nobody cares of things one has done. What can you do now and going forward is the key. Sports has alway taught me this concept.

RIP Harold Bloom.
Seaport visit. Still way underdeveloped as compared to other cities. This shot includes all downtown bridges: Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg.
My favorite lightship.
Octopus at The Fulton.
This bird was constantly pecking at a french fry on the floor. Terrific view of the East River from The Fulton, a Jean-Georges Vongerichten place at Pier 17.
Received five of these Rum cakes, all different varieties.

Columbus Day visit , with grand-kids and sons, to the Tanger Riverhead outlets. Labor Day visit was not doable. One of my favorite stores is now gone. More empty stores from my last visit but with signs "reopening soon." Bought my usual underwear, socks and a nice shirt from Barney's. That store is going out of business. Retail Apocalypse ?
Night and the City, TCM on demand. Mike Mazurki and Francis L. Sullivan shine. Great scenes of London: Tower Bridge and Westminster Bridge.

Just watched Stand By Me after reading The Body in Stephen King's Different Seasons. Real good movie, changes some things, makes you think. River Phoenix is terrific, I forgot that he played a young Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Saw a Cardiologist yesterday. Seems my EKG was off. An Echo-cardiogram showed a good reading. Left with a prescription for high BP. Scary stuff when the first analysis is to see a cardiologist.
Staring at me from my bookcase was Citizen Cohn by Nicholas Van Hoffman.. Ok, I'll read it.
Also reading Behave by Robert Sapolsky. Dense at times but fascinating. After the science gets mind-numbing, I go to Roy Cohn for easier reading.
Right next to Citizen Cohn was Stephen King's Different Seasons. I had just again watched The Shawshank Redemption in a hotel room in London. There it was: Hope Springs Eternal: "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption." Also in the Four novellas: Fall From Innocence: The Body which was the basis for the movie Stand by Me.
