$10 win !
Never had Bucatini, the name comes from Italian: buco, meaning "hole." The sauce sticks to this pasta.
One of my all-time favorite Chinese restaurants has reopened. Their Cold Sesame noodles don't taste like peanut butter. I don't see Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce but maybe they will cook it anyway.

Mexico City had their parade Saturday. The movie Spectre inspired it and it is now a yearly event. La Calavera Catrina is a constant presence.

Trout Town Brown Ale.
Nice sunset.
Birds (pigeons) in sky just flying around in a flock. Usually it is because something spooked them. They fly in a circular pattern swirling around to confuse the predator. DaVinci book says: look around and figure out why things happen.
Although there are Cornucopias, I thought this display was different and cute.
Well, it is still October.

Queens Bully a new BBQ place. Tried ribs, pork and brisket. OK, not great. Brisket more like Pot Roast, lots of pepper. Not up to the special BBQs in NYC. But they just opened.
They do have terrific beer. This was a Dubble Dark.
Perfect score !

Sylvia Hoeks was terrific in Blade Runner 2049. The movie was long and complex. It certainly makes you think. Visuals were stunning.
Nabokov’s “Pale Fire” is part of the action:
Cells interlinked within cells interlinked
Within one stem. And dreadfully distinct
Against the dark, a tall white fountain played.

As a warm-up, Blade Runner: The Director's Cut.
Batty: Yes!
[smiles]
Batty: Questions... Morphology? Longevity? Incept dates?
Hannibal Chew: Don't know, I don't know such stuff. I just do eyes, ju-, ju-, just eyes... just genetic design, just eyes. You Nexus, huh? I design your eyes.
Batty: Chew, if only you could see what I've seen with your eyes!

FALSTAFF
[…] Well, 'tis no matter.
Honor pricks me on. Yea, but how if honor prick me
off when I come on? How then? Can honor set to a
leg? No. Or an arm? No. Or take away the grief of a
wound? No. Honor hath no skill in surgery, then?
No. What is honor? A word. What is in that word
'honor'? What is that 'honor'? Air. A trim reckoning.
Who hath it? He that died o' Wednesday. Doth
he feel it? No. Doth he hear it? No. 'Tis insensible,
then. Yea, to the dead. But will it not live with the
living? No. Why? Detraction will not suffer it. Therefore,
I'll none of it. Honor is a mere scutcheon. And
so ends my catechism.

TCM on demand has plenty of monster flicks. Right now they have: The Black Cat, The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Dracula's Daughter, Frankenstein, Island of Lost Souls, The Mummy, Nosferatu and The Wolf Man.
Sunflowers.
The Hawk ! R.I.P. Tainted by his association with Jack Molinas. Never engaged in point shaving.
I really want to see Blade Runner 2049, but it just came out. Will see this one first to avoid the crowds.

R.I.P. Tom Petty.
Runnin' Down a Dream
It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down
I had the radio on, I was drivin'
Trees flew by, me and Del were singin' little Runaway
I was flyin'
Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream
I felt so good like anything was possible
I hit cruise control and rubbed my eyes
The last three days the rain was unstoppable
It was always cold, no sunshine
Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream
I rolled on as the sky grew dark
I put the pedal down to make some time
There's something good waitin' down this road
I'm pickin' up whatever's mine
Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream
Songwriters: Jeff Lynne / Michael Campbell / Tom Petty
